I would and i would ask for his imput. Didnt have any issues with him. Hes very agressive and direct but captain is the captain.
The style you guys have now is perfect. the lack of interest in this years game is the problem. can't change that
I like the idea of trying to find a way to implement a co-captain/longer season but it would have to be done right of course like everyone is saying. IF you can just choose your co-captain, then pack it up. But, if you were to make it so there's a round prior to round 1 that is for choosing co-captains that is not the same as the actual draft order (adds more variance to the situation to make sure everyone has a fair chance at getting a solid player/co-captain in that round, then has a chance at getting first pick. (Maybe with this idea we do a probability generator and if you get first pick in co-captains round you have like a 3% of getting first overall pick) basically a draft lottery system for the rest of the draft if that makes any sense. But, with co-captains, they cannot be traded, and must stick to either forward, defense, or goalie. Doesn't have to be locked in at one position, but they must play that spot on the ice they were chosen for. Drug said it perfectly, if someone like Regretzkys and Kosmic ended up on the same line, that's gonna be the worst season of 239 for everyone but that squad. So there's stuff with it of course and maybe that ranking system wouldn't be bad but with this league, you'd need a solid board of people to rank the players and I don't think that would be easy as I've done the process of awards here alone and I'm not perfect by any means but hearing some other people evaluate talent and watching them draft every season just goes to show they really don't know what they're talking about so that'd be another flaw in that system. Finding a way for longer seasons would be great and I think divisions are the only way to do it without everyone playing each other twice. Sadly, people will get screwed and have to play some good teams twice or be in a harder division but that's again the same odds of how the draft normally goes, wherever you get placed you have to make due. With divisions you could do something along the lines of more wildcard spots rather than making it by points due to the that whole "strong and weak divisions" stuff we're talking about here. Also, defining the role of a co-captain would need to be done specifically because I know that if I captained with certain people here, I would probably off myself with having to see their thought process but that's just the child within me and I know you have to manage with what yah got but that's just a valid point of how people get upset with certain things within league and it pushes them away of course. So there's of course shit people will like and not like about it, but I don't want to vote until I see a set plan on how you guys think it should be properly done. From there I could have a more straight forward vote. Sorry for the spam, just didn't know if any of my ideas or thoughts could help or something.
this is also true, I just added my thoughts incase people were looking to change things up. Also could be a trial run for one season, especially with summer season and people not looking to be as involved with other stuff going on. I don't know, dans the man, he gets it.
I personally think co-captains aren't needed. Like at all. I just entered 4 games of stats in less that 10 minutes. It's cake. If it's solely to make stat input quicker, that's silly as it's already so easy and simple to do. I do agree with longer seasons. I saw someone mention having divisions where you play everyone in your division twice and everyone else once. But we need to get back to 12+ teams minimum every season to make that work decent IMO. That's going to take people recruiting reliable/non-scummy people into the league or getting people that have left the league back. Dan hit the nail on the head. This league is run GREAT, the game is just stale. I've seen people complain about this pucks on net play style more since NHL 19 come out then ever before. As long as EA keeps making these stupid bounces/non-puck pick ups around the net a thing, it's going to continue. Edit: I'm also kind of for the auction style draft. Giving everyone an opportunity to any player through-out the draft SHOULD make for better parity top to bottom.
Unless you are willing to make the co-captain on every team be a mandatory live stream, drop it. We have playoff series not being live streamed let alone 0 media will hurt if not kill the league.
A better idea, create a media department that guarantees you a position on a team that cannot be subbed for a part-timer. With it you need to live stream every game. I have not signed up for next season only because I am unsure of my availability but will be up front I am not the person who will sign up for what I am asking for. We get caught up in trying to recruit the best talent! Talent plays a huge role but I think this league can flourish on people wanting to play decent hockey.
