Welcome back fam, Playoff round 1 is completed. So it’s time that we talk about it. It seems the series were polar opposites of each other, one was high scoring and 1 sided while the other was a battle for the ages.
DIG DEEP ELIMINATES DEAD WINGS IN 5 GAMES
After dropping a heartbreaking 3-2 overtime decision in game 1 (Schemm scored the ot winner), Dig deep responded in dominant fashion. They won the next 4 games to eliminate the Dead wings in 5 games and punch their ticket to the next round. The series turned immediately in Game 2 when Dig deep blanked Dead Wings 3-0 and never looked back. From there the offense came alive scoring 6 goals in both 3 and 5 while showcasing the depth that made them one of the league’s most dangerous teams. Dead wings kept things close in game 4 falling 4-3 in a tightly contested battle but dig deep slammed the door in game 5 with a commanding 6-1 victory to close out the series. It is worth noting that they had to use a waiver RD and it ended up being gala YUCK. No wonder the dead wings had their wings clipped night 2. After game one Dig deep outscored the dead wings 19-8 over the final four games of the series.

REBUILDING FOREVER SURVIVES A 7 GAME WAR
The first-round matchup between Rebuilding Forever and No Soup For You delivered everything a playoff series should. Overtime drama, defensive battles and a winner take all 7game series. This easily could be the best series of the post season. Rebuilding Forever struck first with a convincing 4-2 victory in game 1 but No soup responded immediately with an OT win followed by a dominant 5-1 performance in game 3 which gave them a 2-1 series lead and appeared to firmly put them in control. That lead wouldn’t last, facing a pivotal game 4 we found a way to respond beating no soup 3-2 in OT. The teams then went right back into overtime in game 5, where rebuilding forever once again came through in the clutch, securing another 3-2 victory and taking their first series lead since game 1. No soup refused to go quietly in game 6, they had one of their best all around games and earned a 3-1 win forcing a decisive game 7.
GAME 7- The game started off in No soup’s favor with Clutch and zigz putting them up 2-0 in the first. Late in the second period after I picked off a pizza from dan at the point I flew down the ice with a vision of starting the comeback for my squad which was very short lived because I got stuffed with a flying poke check from Jabber but I happened to get bailed out by the hockey gods. The poke caused the puck to go straight to lem who buried the rebound to get us within 1. About halfway through the 3rd period cob buries a goal to even the score at 2. The time was starting to run down which would bring us into our 4TH OT game this round but Lemanski had different plans and decided to bury the game winning goal with about a minute left in the game. Heartbreak for No soup for you.
